The Skinny team has been working for some time to link the Jump login process between Web Dashboard logins and App logins. Yesterday, this went live. So now Jump customers must use the same login details (email and password) for both ways of accessing their Skinny account.
The downside is that there could be some confusion for customers when they now try and sign in using their Web Dashboard and get the message below. But this is easily fixed if they follow the on-screen instructions and click on “can’t sign in”. This allows users to reset their password to be the same as their App or choose a new one, noting the more stringent requirements now required for Jump passwords (8 characters, including at least one capital letter, one number and one special character). App users will be familiar with this, as this is something the App has always required.

Hi Laurence. This sounds like an improvement. Can you clarify – if someone signs up via the website, and at a later date decide to get the app, do they have to go through the whole sign up process in the app, or will they now just be able to log in with their website login?

An excellent question and the news is just in. If a customer registers on the website desktop, then they only need to log in to the App – registration is not required a second time. I assume it is true the other way round as well. How about testing this and if it works for you, we’ll shout this from the rooftops. This really is a giant step forward.

Thanks Laurence. Great news. What’s best practice for testing out a sign-up, in terms of entering modem details? Is there a ‘test’ broadband # we can use, or we do we use a normal modem and then have to get it delinked from the dummy account?

I suggest you just use any modem to hand and then put it through the modem return process to get it reset.

Hi Laura, did you have any luck testing whether the Jump app and website login work together without needing to register again?

There is no need to register a second time.

Hi Laurence, thanks for that. I was wondering if Laura had tested it and what the result was from it š
